Did you know that 1/3 of people with depression do not respond well to traditional antidepressants and pharmaceuticals? Many patients find that the negative side effects that accompany antidepressant use don’t outweigh the underlying symptoms of depression.

What is the alternative to taking pills every day? Why not think outside of the pill-box?

Revitalist is thinking outside of the box when it comes to alternative modalities for treating depression and mood disorders. Transmagnetic stimulation or TMS is a noninvasive, non-drug electromagnetic therapy that uses magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells and treat a variety of mental health disorders.

One of the greatest benefits of TMS therapy is its long-term symptoms relief. This is possible because TMS treats depression at its source: the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex area of the brain, just above the left eyebrow.

Magstim TMS therapy is FDA-cleared for major depression as an effective, noninvasive outpatient treatment with few known adverse effects or downtime. Come see us for an evaluation to see if TMS might be the right treatment choice for you.

Revitalist Lifestyle and Wellness offers the most advanced TMS technology available with the use of the Magstim TMS system.

How TMS Works...

TMS treatment is a safe, noninvasive treatment option that induces little or no side effects. It has been found to be a powerful alternative for patients who find themselves treatment-resistant.

TMS works through coils that send out magnetic pulses safely through the skull and into the brain.

Theta Burst Stimulation (TBS)

With Magstim, Revitalist can offer theta burst stimulation (TBS) in addition to traditional TMS. TBS is a new form of brain stimulation treatment that aims to more accurately reflect the natural neuronal activity and rhythms in the brain.

Theta bursts are shorter but have been shown to produce stronger and longer-lasting relief in some patients.

TMS therapy has been recommended by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) since 2010 for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adult patients who have not received satisfactory improvement from other antidepressant treatments in the current episode.

TMS requires a small-time commitment during each treatment. TMS is performed in our clinic and requires no anesthesia or premedication prior to the treatment. This therapy does not induce any sort of seizure or alteration in consciousness.
